What is the significance of Silver and Gold in our modern society? Many people today are oblivious to the value and importance of these precious metals. One only needs to glance through our history books and the importance of Silver and Gold are glaringly obvious. Yet the question may still arise,,, what has that got to do with us today? We don't need silver and gold to do business or trade, we use money. Isn't the U.S. dollar the most important exchange for goods and services today? Many seem to think that Silver and Gold are obsolete and a thing of the past.
While having a conversation with a friend of mine the other day, I mentioned to him the importance of Silver. He said to me, "yeh but if I invest in Silver who would ever want to buy it from me?"
That statement alone would seem to be the sentiment of about 98% of the population. The other 2% of us who are aware of the true value of REAL money are on the verge of amassing great wealth. BIG statement I know. However, this blog is all about helping the average Joe understand some of the History behind these amazing and intriguing metals and how, given a bit of planing, investigation and action, can create great wealth for the average Joe in the not too distant future.... more on that later.
For now, a bit about me. I'm a blue collar guy who loves to read about history and in particular the history of money, currency and Real Estate. I am by no means an expert or guru on the subjects and I am always learning. (A note on many so-called experts... "X" usually represents an unknown quantity and a "spurt" is a drip under pressure). However, one of the greatest lessons I have learned is that history has an uncanny knack of repeating itself. Even some of the unspeakable and unimaginable events have somehow repeated themselves. You'd think mankind would have learned truth by now, apparently not.
So how does that benefit me/you/us? We virtually have a crystal ball on the future. All we have to do is match up the signs from history to todays events and act on what we see. Sounds easy hey. It's no quite that simple, but pretty close to it.
Enjoy
